In 2009 we've noticed the dutch tuning club StreetGasm slowly crossing over from show-based to a combination of show and performance cars. Not only does their club now hold a large amount of visual artworks as cars, but the cars they used as base are shifted to performance cars like the Toyota Supra, Nissan Skyline, Mitsubishi Evo and more.
One of those projects is this Mazda RX7 from Vince. From the moment he bought it, it took 14 months to actually start driving in it. The RX7 had a defect engine, which was first removed at a local Mazda dealer and then shipped to Pettit Racing USA. They rebuilt the engine and made it stable to run 400bhp with a larger boost. Vince nowadays is satisfied with 380bhp on normal boost.
Once the car was ready to hit the road Vince started to modify it slowly to his own style. He bought the car from another Streetgasm member, so he needed to loose the 'oh that was the car of...' remarks and set his own style with the RX7. The C-West bodykit, the Dotz Mugello rims, but mostly the paintjob AJ's Autobody & Paint provided made the car one of its kind. The original Mazda color Galaxy Grey Mica is now not only to be found on Mazda 6's and RX8's, but also on one RX7...
As for future plans, Vince is waiting on some brackets to install the new Bride Gias seats and a new set of Defi meters. Perhaps we'll see this RX7 roaming over the track this year. We certainly hope so.
